Upverter 2015

Upverter is an online platform offering a web based tool to create EE layouts, MLBs and more for the electronics industry.

In 2015 we worked with them to create ID concepts based on projects published on the platform by their users. Overall dimensions as well as sensor types, inputs and outputs were also provided.

A day would be used to conceptualize, CAD up and render images of a physical representation of an idea. Below are a few concepts built in this context.

Example of layouts provided at the beginning of each design sprint.

__

01 A digital frame that can connect to existing image or video services and randomly display photos or videos to the user.

__

02 A small module that can create animated light shows during a concert when worn by hundreds of spectators. The module can be plugged into different accessories depending on the occasion (Neckless, bracelets…).

__

03 A small bluetooth temperature sensor that can be placed anywhere. The simple enclosure suggests its functionality by its profile. A dead front LED informs of the battery and connectivity status while in use.

__

04 A modular analog saturator for DoItYourself recording equipment. Each module is color coded and provides a different tone to the music being played. Buttons on the front surface turn on or off each module and light up with the corresponding module color.

__

05 A multi use alarm using light sensing technology to alert users to a change in the conditions of their surroundings. This concept recalls the iconic shape of an alarm bell and its arm. A quarter of the circular surface is finely perforated for the speaker and light sensing components. A TPU band hides the USB connection port while keeping a clean profile.

__

06 A bluetooth pen capturing handwriting.

__

07 A bicycle powered USB charger.
